At Traditional Oak and Timber Co we work with many varying construction and renovation companies, and are happy to say have a great rapport with all of them.

Natural Path Building Solutions, based in Devon approached us for a tender of air dried oak beams cut to size for their latest renovation project, and have very kindly mentioned us in their blog for the project itself.

Oak Cladding

The owner of this beautiful property wanted to introduce some oak components when other wortk was being carried out. We supplied air dried rustic oak, sawn to the sizes her builders required. We were able to saw the oak cladding from air dried oak beams so the look is authentic.

The air dried oak beams were 150 x 150 of which we sliced 38mm from. Perfect thickness for cladding.

We are able to supply oak cladding in both reclaimed older oak or in the air dried oak you see here. We have a huge stock of both and ar eable to saw to the sizes required.

We have 2 new oak tables for sale. These beautiful tables are both identical in design and size, and have been hand made from joinery quality Air Dried Oak.

Rustic external staircase and porches

These sets of stair cases and porches we have recently fabricated were built from air dried oak to give a beautiful rustic appearance, reduce movement in the oak, and complete the superb look of the property as the customer required.

The stairs were designed with the ideas of the customer to be functional but pleasing on the eye.

Fire Beam Fitting Kit.

Traditional Oak and Timber Co are now able to supply a fitting kit for your floating fireplace mantel.

Winter is nearly with us and the temperature is dropping! so there is no time like the present for an oak fireplace!

Having a floating fireplace beam means you don’t require any corbels or unsightly brackets, and as long as the beam is being fitted to a brick wall or equivalent the fixing is as strong as both options.

The fitting kit consists of:

Holes drilled to the back of the beam sufficient with the size and weight.
Threaded steel rod cut to length required for the holes.
All purpose bonding resin to hold the rods in the beam, and in the wall.

Once fitted a floating beam gives a modern look but keeping the beautiful charachter of an oak fireplace.

The kit is priced at £25 + VAT

Finishes of beams.

So far we have had very good input from customers about the new web site. And I hope that if your reading this now you have had a good look around!

One thing was mentioned that we did not have a page showing the finishes available on our oak beams. This prompted me to go about creating one.

I have made sure I have finished various beams in all the waxing/oiling aesthetic options we do. I have taken pictures to show the typical finishes.

Please be aware though that especially with the reclaimed oak all the beams are different in their own way. So while we will strive to give you exactly what you are looking for from our choices, variations in texture and colour will occur.
